Friday Morning Ramblings

My good friend Philip shared the following article on Facebook last night.  I don’t often share articles via my blog because this is my venue for my thoughts and ideas, but this article clearly articulates what I’ve been trying to express for a few years.  Our faith that this is the land of opportunity is being eroded by an ever-shrinking minority of elites.  Everyone should read this article and digest it.  This is what’s wrong with America today:

Wednesday Morning Ramblings

If it stops raining, I think I’m gonna run to the building this afternoon and get a little work done.  There is still a lot of brush to clean up along the back, and the roof and gutter still need cleaning.  I had planned on getting those complete last Saturday, but when the rains came in that day, I had to stop short.  Obviously, if it’s still raining this afternoon, I won’t able to get anything done today, but hopefully, the weather will clear up, and I can get two to three good hours of work put in.

I would like to start repairing the front wall this weekend.  Now that the back wall isn’t flooding like before, the front wall is the priority for being able to use the building.  The exterior seems to be in pretty good shape, but the interior needs to be completely redone.  We need both insulation and new walls, and until that wall is fixed, it’s not really feasible to install the growing unit.  The unit involves a lot of sensitive equipment, and we can’t risk damage to anything because we didn’t take the time to properly repair the building.

Saturday Evening Ramblings

Before and During the Brush Clearing

We have some really good news to share.  The repairs to the back wall are holding up, and even with a couple of bad storms, there was no water inside the building at all.  That’s a major victory for us on the way to renovating the building.

I got a lot done today but had to stop early because of rain, so I didn’t quite get everything accomplished that I had set as today’s goals.  Also, I only got to snap one decent picture before the rain got pretty heavy.  I really wanted to take several to show off how much progress we’ve made with the brush, but this one gives a decent idea of just how much stuff we’ve cut down so far.

Next weekend, hopefully the weather will be a lot better.  As for me, right now I’m gonna put my feet up and drink a couple of very cold beers because I’m worn out.
