Monday Evening Ramblings

Life has really gone into warp drive these last few months.  Working on the farm has consumed a lot of time and teaching dual enrollment is like a time black hole.  But I’m happy, happier than I’ve been since Collin was born.  My life has purpose and direction once again, and I’m okay with who I am and what I’ve been through.  I won’t go far as to say that I’m on my feet, but I’m getting closer.

I’m gonna get the last few pages of book three hammered out before we get too deep into the semester, and then Phillip will help me spit and polish it into shape.

So that’s a brief update.  I may not get to blog often this semester because of my schedule, but I’ll try.  Until next time…

Wednesday Morning Ramblings

Well, I had a great trip with the boys.  We spent the first week in Morristown and visited with family.  All three of the grandparents hadn’t seen them in over a year, so it was good for them to reconnect.  Then, we went to Chattanooga and stayed at the Choo Choo, which is one of my favorite places.  The ambiance of the old train station is special.  While there, we went to the Tennessee Aquarium and Imax, and if you haven’t been yet, you need to make the trip.  It’s an amazing experience.

After that, we went to Fontana Lake and spent three nights at the Fontana Village Resort.  It’s a pretty nice place and offers a lot for a family to take advantage of.  My only complaint was that the area has become a mecca of sorts for motorcycle enthusiasts, so I had to put up with a lot of posers.  On the other hand, I also got to meet a handful of very cool people who live the life, so in the end, it all balanced out.  The resort is well worth the money, and I’ll probably go back fairly soon.

Now, I’m trying to get back into something of a regular routine.  Dual enrollment has started back, so I’m already in the classroom, and I still need to finish the last few pages of book three, but overall, life is good.  I’ll write more soon.

Tuesday Morning Ramblings

I got to go to a Smokies baseball game last night and sit in the WSCC suite/box seats.  That was the most fun I’ve had in quite some time.  The game was pretty good even though it got rained out in the fifth or sixth inning.  We got to see some pretty talented players make some pretty good plays.  The second baseman for Montgomery made what I thought was the play of the night.  A rocket of a liner was hit to his left, and he dove backwards, fielded it, and then fired to second to start a double-play.

In addition to the game, I got to enjoy some wonderful conversation and ate way too much junk food.  If I ever order BBQ nachos again, someone please stop me!  Despite the rain, it was a wonderful evening, and I’m grateful for the tickets from the college.

That’s all for now.  I have a lot of work to do to finish getting ready for the boys.
